The winner of Rachel the Mule, this year’s official giveaway mule at the 2025 American Mule & Bluegrass Festival, was Gary Singleton of Georgia. Gary has decided to auction Rachel, as his work requires frequent travel and he feels she deserves a home where she can receive more time and attention. Rachel, generously donated by Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Heritage Group, will now be available through the Van Massey Auction website, and bidding is open for the next seven days: https://vanmassey.bidwrangler.com/ui/auctions/148407/21591214

As part of this special arrangement, 50% of the auction proceeds will go directly to Gary Singleton while the other 50% will benefit Mission Mules, a Christian nonprofit disaster response organization and sister group to Mountain Mule Packers of North Carolina. Mission Mules is uniquely equipped to bring aid into hard-to-reach disaster zones using mules delivering food, medical supplies, and tools where trucks and vehicles can’t go.

Thanks to your generosity, we already raised $10,000 for Mission Mules through $5 ticket donations during the 2025 festival giveaway. Now, this auction gives us all another chance to support their life-changing work even further.

Rachel is currently located in Shelbyville, TN, for viewing and pick-up.
